What a special place... beautiful décor...calming comfort with a feeling of the past...a 5-star night! Bernadette & James

Oozes with charm! It is what it is and what it is is a lovely old home brought back to life without plasticity of a Disney property. Though we only stayed one night, we could have easily fallen into the slow pace of this sleepy town. Skip could not have been more gracious and granted us a special favor of picking us up from the tiny airport and taking us back; with a mini-tour thrown into the package.

As far as hotels go, you can easily do far worse. They would do well from more rigorous cleaning, but the experience is worth the price.

Stayed without reservation in their Hemingway room. The coowner, Skip, is cordial and lighthearted as you arrange your stay. The establishment is small, the bathroom comprising likely half of the total of the room (quite spacious). The atmosphere of the room and the communal living spaces is adventurous and lively, with tribal masks, African artwork, and old photography from safaris past adorning the walls in the room. As you rest, mosquito netting enshrines the head of the bed. A chimpanzee Butler greets you at the door with a comfortable sitting room just to the left as you enter.

As for the stay, the hotel is not a picture of cleanliness. It's not abhorrent by any means. There were some stray hairs in the linens from past tenants, and a layer of dust laid over much of the furniture and fell from the ceiling fans, which we wound up turning off.

This is old Florida as it should be. Easy and Good. great place to stay. Very recommendable hosts.

Carrabelle is a quaint fishing village on the forgotten coast. The Inn is a perfect place to experience this special place. My husband and I stayed there over the 4th and loved it. The owners are delightful and so helpful. We felt right at home.
