I had American Automotive (aka Merrill Automotive) put a new clutch in my 1998 Camaro. They did the job quickly and for a great price. I've put 40,000 miles on the clutch and it is still running strong. I can understand the frustration of the previous reviewer where the mechanics at American (Merrill) didn't know about the hidden relays behind the Jeep dash that were causing a problem. But as the reviewer said, they were something only a Jeep dealer mechanic would know about. It's not possible for a small, independent shop like American to know every hidden detail of every car made. The bottom line is that they did get that car running and it ran for two weeks before those hidden relays caused problems again. They got the car back on the road to where it could be taken to the Jeep dealer. The nearest Jeep Dealer is in Tallahassee and I know from painful experience that a tow from Carrabelle to Tallahassee will run $500, so their bill was less than that and enabled the car to get to the Jeep Dealer. Seems like they did the best the could with a situation that was really not in their control.
Our wheel bearing broke late in the day; they made numerous phone calls to find the part; had it delivered and fixed our vehicle by the end of the following day. They did a great job. Would definitely recommend them.
